Former US President Donald Trump is a huge golf fan. And it seems that this interest has also influenced his eldest grandson.

Kai Trump, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa, currently plays golf at the prestigious Benjamin School in Florida. Charlie Woods, son of Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren, attends the same school, and the tuition is said to cost around 400,000 Swedish kronor a year.

Now 17-year-old Kay Trump is announcing she's taking the next step to play golf at the University of Miami, having reached a verbal agreement with the school.

She herself writes on Instagram:

“I want to thank my mom Vanessa and dad Don for always supporting me throughout my journey. I also want to thank my amazing team for getting me to this point.”

Kai Trump, 17, said: “He'll be surprised.”

Over the years, Kai Trump has been invited by Donald Trump to play with some of the biggest sports stars.

She has also previously won the Ladies Club Championship at her grandfather's course in Palm Beach, Florida.

“I want to thank my grandfather for giving me access to great courses and tremendous support.”she writes on Instagram.

The grandson has also shown support for Donald Trump politically, giving a striking speech at the Republican convention last summer. It was her first public appearance in a political context.

“When we play golf together, and I’m not on his team, he tries to get into my head. He’s always surprised that I don’t let him succeed at it,” the 17-year-old said, among other things, in his speech.
