During the day, the EU Council will make a decision to sign a new free trade agreement with New Zealand, the government office wrote in a press release.
“I am very proud that the Council of the European Union has signed the EU-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement. The agreement will provide significant economic opportunities and contain the most ambitious sustainability commitments the EU has ever made in a trade agreement,” says Foreign Trade and Aid Minister Johan Forssell (MAN) in comment.
He also says that this was a priority of the Swedish presidency of the European Union.
At the same time, the go-ahead will be given to start negotiations on agreements on rules related to digital trade with Singapore and South Korea. As well as adopting common principles for digital trade with Japan.
