Immerse yourself properly in the virtual world: Apple doesn’t believe in it
What Apple’s first headset will look like and when the company plans to enter the world of VR and AR remains a subject of speculation – we’ve repeatedly reported rumors about this in the past. While other companies, especially Meta, dream loudly of a metaverse that would establish itself as an alternative virtual reality, Apple seems to be giving such intellectual games a clear rejection now.

Like Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest newsletter employment He reported that he wanted to receive a clear message from corporate circles that Apple would vehemently avoid joining the seemingly inevitable trend into the metaverse. “I would be shocked if I heard a word on stage when Apple announced its headphone: Metaverse,” Gorman said. “I was told quite directly that the idea of a completely virtual world in which users could escape – as in the future vision of Meta/Facebook – is a taboo for Apple.”
Quickly in and out again
The data also aligns well with previous reports, according to which Apple does not want to design its own headset to fully play VR. Gurman adds that the company isn’t developing the product as an “all-day device,” but rather focuses entirely on enabling “short units of gaming, communication, and other content consumption.”
It will be very interesting to see how Apple really deals with the topic of virtual reality, mixed reality, and augmented reality. However, for a company, it may be quite logical to consciously differentiate itself from the course of competition. Our little speculation about the future: Apple could make itself a niche near Microsoft’s HoloLens to launch the headset.
