Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro is suspected of embezzling jewelry worth 6.8 million Brazilian reals, or more than 13 million Swedish kronor, according to a police report.

Bolsonaro was indicted last week on suspicion of embezzlement, money laundering and links to crime.

Federal police investigators have alleged that a criminal group, allegedly led by former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, tried to sell luxury jewellery given as gifts by foreign leaders on official visits, worth at least 13 million crowns, according to the Guardian.

The police report is filled with photos of lavish gifts from foreign governments that she allegedly embezzled, including a $20,000 Chopard rollerball pen, a pair of earrings worth more than $126,000 and a special edition Rolex watch worth about $74,000.

Investigators also allege that the money from the sales went into the president's personal fortune “through intermediaries and without using the formal banking system, in order to conceal the origin, location and ownership of these sums,” the Guardian wrote.

If convicted, Bolsonaro could face up to 25 years in prison.
