Hostage in newly released video: We are terrified

Lobanov was kidnapped from the Nova music festival on October 7 and found dead in southern Gaza on August 31 along with five other Israeli hostages. The heavily edited video offers a glimpse into the 32-year-old’s nearly 11-month captivity.

“We are being held in very difficult conditions,” he says in the recording. “We don’t have basic necessities, no water, no food, no electricity, no hygiene products,” he says, adding that he has been moved about ten times.

Maybe under Under pressure from his captors, Lobanov then turns to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli government.

He says: They let us down on October 7 and you are still letting us down.

– I left behind a pregnant wife, a two-year-old son, and sick parents. Help them raise their voices. Take to the streets. Protest. Do everything you can to get us out alive.

Similar footage has been released before of a number of hostages being killed, footage that can be assumed to have been shot under duress and at gunpoint. Israeli authorities, as well as human rights groups and several previously released hostages, have reported that the hostages are subjected to extreme pressure while filming Hamas propaganda films.
