How to hide private conversations on WhatsApp

WhatsApp continues to work on the long-awaited feature, which is available as a beta for Android.

WhatsApp continues to add new functionality to its platform to differentiate itself from the competition and not lose ground after recent changes it has implemented to its data usage policies.

This time, developers of the Facebook-owned messaging app have focused their attention on being able to hide conversations that users consider “sensitive”.

There is no way to effectively hide chats from prying eyes on iOS or Android which is why WhatsApp continues to test the ‘archived’ function, a tool that allows conversations that the user has saved in this way. Even if new messages were received.

It should be noted that the “archived” mode, previously known as “vacation mode”, has already been detected in the code of previous versions of the application and has now appeared in the latest beta version of the messaging app for Android (2.21.11.1), the specialized portal WABetaInfo revealed.

Those who use the new application file will be able to notice how affected chat conversations are automatically silenced, so that the user does not receive notifications if new messages are received, as was the case until now.

But in addition, WhatsApp users will have access to this function from the settings menu, by clicking on the “chat” option, as this new tool will be included after its official launch, in which you must choose “keep chats archived” to activate or deactivate it. .

This way, a chat window will appear at the top of the section where all archived conversations will be included, with a number to reflect the number of new messages received.
