Poland ranks second in the European Union in terms of industrial production

In November 2021, industrial production rose by 2.3%. in the euro area and by 2.5%. in the European Union compared to October 2021, according to Eurostat. Poland ranks second among the member states in terms of industrial production. Our country recorded an increase in industrial production by 5.9%.

In the ranking, Ireland ranks first (with an increase of 37.3%). It is followed by Poland, followed by the Czech Republic (4.8%). The largest decreases were recorded in Belgium (-4.4%), Malta (-3.7) and Luxembourg (-2.3), according to Eurostat data.

The eurozone is at the bottom

According to Eurostat estimates, in November 2021 compared to November 2020, industrial production in the eurozone fell by 1.5%. At the same time, it remained unchanged throughout the European Union. It follows that the performance of countries outside the eurozone was better than those that decided to adopt the single currency.

In terms of the production of capital goods in the entire European Union, November 2021 saw a decrease compared to November 2020 by 8.2%. However, some countries have seen increases. Here you can see again that Poland is doing quite well. In this ranking, our country again took second place with an increase of 15.3 percent. Only our neighbor – Lithuania is better than Poland (17 percent), and Bulgaria is behind Poland, with an increase of 13.3 percent.

The largest annual decreases were recorded in Ireland (-30.4%), Malta (-7.8%), Germany and Luxembourg (-2.5% each).
