Although CEO Cezary Kulesza has announced that the name of the new coach will be announced on Wednesday, January 19th, we still do not know who will lead our team to the play-offs. According to all media reports, the president has already reached an agreement with Navaska, but has not yet made that decision. After Wednesday’s meeting of the PZPN Board, he issued a brief statement.

The announcement of the Polish Football Association shows that the title of coach of the Polish national team was discussed at the board meeting. Cezary Kulesza presented the current situation and told management board members that talks were underway with the candidates. “For their successful course and the calm needed to make the best decision, PZPN will not provide further information until this topic is taken up” – it was written in the release.

Candidates other than Nawałka?

According to several media reports, the appointment of Adam Navaska is a matter of time. “Przegląd Sportowy”, however, says there are still two potential candidates at the crossroads. The first is Andriy Shevchenko, mentioned earlier in this context. The Ukrainian was recently liberated from Genoa, Italy, so in theory he is available. However, the matter is complicated by the fact that the coach has a two-and-a-half-year contract with the club from Italy and must be paid. Signing a contract with White and the Reds is like losing a little money.

The “PS” message also contained the name Michał Probierz, which should be taken into account. The coach recently signed and terminated the contract with Thermalica Brook-Bed Nicisa two days later.
