The Russian Defense Ministry claims that the United States has increased its presence in the Black Sea. The ministry said in a statement on Friday that spy drones are appearing in the area “increasingly” and warned of possible consequences.
“Such flights significantly increase the likelihood of incidents in airspace with the Russian Air Force, increasing the risk of direct confrontation between NATO and the Russian Federation,” he added. The Ministry of Defense writes on a telegram.
Russia claims the US is using drones to survey Russian targets and then provide intelligence to the Ukrainian military.

The statement comes just days after the country accused the United States of providing coordinates to Ukraine before the attack on Crimea, where at least five people were said to have been killed. The United States denies such interference and says Ukraine chooses its own targets.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the Russian military has now been tasked with developing an action plan in case something happens across the Black Sea.
“Defense Minister Andrei Belousov instructed the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to submit proposals on measures to respond promptly to provocations.” The Ministry writes in its statement.
