Unsuccessful ending for Łukasz Skorupski’s team. The last minute made a difference

Before the match, Cagliari was in a much worse situation – he was in 18th place and had to take into account the specter of the struggle to stay in the first division. Therefore, he had to fight bravely for every point. Bologna was in the middle of the table. She had a huge advantage over the relegation zone and an even bigger loss for the rising teams. Sebastian Walukewicz did not play with Cagliari due to injury, while Lukasz Skorobsky was between the two goal lists for Bologna.

In the first half, the Cagliari players were closer to the goal. In the 14th minute, Raul Bellanova hit the post from close range. Later, Alberto Grassi missed a good opportunity, hitting a very light kick to surprise Lukasz Skorobsky.

But after the break, Bologna took the lead. In the 54th minute, Riccardo Orsolini opened the match with a superb free kick.

The end, however, belongs to the hosts. First, in the 71st minute, Leonardo Pavoletti equalized. The Italian found himself well in the penalty area and defeated Skorupski without any problems.

And the hosts hit the knockout kick in the 93rd minute. Gaston Pereiro received the ball in the penalty area, hit the “short” post and defeated the Polish goalkeeper. Skorupski should do a better job in this case, because the ball fell into the net under his arm.

With this win, Cagliari have only one point behind the first team outside the relegation zone. On the other hand, Bologna lost its fourth defeat in its fifth league match and certainly did not improve its situation.
