Warsaw. Traffic jam in malls on the weekend before Christmas

On the weekend before Christmas in Warsaw, traffic jams form on the access roads to shopping centers. This is the case, among others, near Arkadia in ródmieście, Blue City in Ochota and the M1 complex in Targówek. It calls on the police to adhere to health restrictions and announces an increase in inspections in this regard.

In addition to the Radosław roundabout, where the Arkadia shopping center is located, there are also traffic jams on the S8 in the section from Lazurowa to the Marymont junction. On the right side of the Vistula, a lot of traffic can be seen in the Targówek part adjacent to the Marche, where the Homepark Targówek, IKEA and M1 complex are.

Varsovians also visit other shopping centers in droves, including Galeria Mokotów, Galeria Północna and Wola Park. Drivers heading to the Blue City of Ochota must be patient: Allegi Jerozolimsky in the direction of central Warsaw is jammed from the intersection at the junction with Łopuszańska to Bitwy Warszawskiej.

Tvnwarszawa.pl correspondent Matthews Semlter watched the situation in Arcadia. – In fact, there are heavy traffic jams on the access roads to this mall. And while Słomińskiego Street stands still is nothing new, the traffic jam on Aleja Jana Pawła II from Żoliborz and at the entrance from Kłopot Street is linked to exceptionally heavy traffic in Arkadia – Szmelter reported after 4pm.

Increased police inspections

Police are appealing to residents to comply with the COVID restrictions. According to Monika Norat of the Warsaw Police Headquarters, inspections have been intensified in this regard – often in relation to shopping centers. – If during this inspection a person who did not cover his mouth and nose performs it on the instructions of the police, it may end only with caution. But violation of the restrictions can also lead to a fine of up to 500 PLN or an application for punishment to the court – she said.

We would like to ask people to be careful and stay away. There is a rush of Christmas shopping, but each of us would like to spend Christmas safely with our family – the policewoman emphasized.

According to the government’s announcements, health inspection checks will also be intensified with regard to compliance with the permissible limits for people. Since December 15, under the new Covid regulation, it has decreased from 50 to 30 percent in restaurants, hotels, bars, cinemas and theaters. If the entrepreneur decides to verify the Covid certificates, the dung certificates will not count towards the cap.
