A new screen (or even several) has been up in the air at Apple for a long time. This is not to say that the Pro Display is expensive, but the “normal” screen is made 9TO5Mac It’s referred to as the Apple Studio Display – but it doesn’t have to be called that.
Internal sources have told that a 7K resolution monitor is in development, and to be honest, this will be a very high resolution. Apple likes to go about 5 km, but 7 km? Especially with a screen of about 30 inches?

Additionally, Ming-Chi Kuo expects an “affordable” 27-inch screen, which we’ll see with the Mac mini this year.
Did Apple plan for two screens? The Pro Display is at least a bit outdated, as miniature LEDs and 120Hz will be the current standard. You can update it, perhaps with a resolution of 7K, and at the same time show a new screen for the “entry level” (which will certainly still be very expensive at Apple).
Tomorrow’s Apple event would be a good place for such an announcement.
