A 37-year-old woman went for a jog on Sunday morning at the Thoiry Zoo, west of Paris. She spent the night with her family in a safari hut in the park.
Three arctic wolves attacked and severely injured her – initially she was ruled to have life-threatening injuries.

Biting on the neck

Park employees rushed to the scene and rescued the woman when they heard her screams. She was taken to a nearby hospital while the wolves were returned to their enclosure.
Thoiry is located about four miles west of Paris and is one of the most popular zoos in France. About 800 animals roam there freely, including wolves and bears, while visitors can watch them from cars.
Rent a single floor
The park rents huts and cabins to visitors. It is close to wolf and bear enclosures, but is protected by electric fences and moats. Police are investigating how the woman reached the area designated for visitors by car.
