In an interview with SVT’s 30 Minutes Show on Wednesday, Jimmy O’Keson was asked who to choose between Putin or Biden. He didn’t want to choose.
“I don’t want any of them as prime minister or prime minister of Sweden,” said Akesson, who, on the other hand, said he preferred the American system over the Russian one.
Kristerson: I can’t understand
Moderate leader Ulf Kristersson reacts to this.
– Not understood. I do not understand how one cannot choose between a democratically elected president and Russian President Putin. I probably think almost all other people in Sweden can make that decision, says Christerson.
The question was put to Jimmie Åkesson, among others, due to the fact that on Wednesday the SD in the European Parliament voted against a support package for Ukraine.
The Prime Minister responds
Prime Minister Magdalena Anderson also responded sharply to Okeson’s comments.
That the Swedish Democrats can’t say whether they prefer US President (Joe) Biden over (Russian President Vladimir) Putin is very dangerous. Russia has deployed thousands upon thousands of troops along the Ukrainian border. This is a situation that requires clarity, compact and responsibility, Anderson says at a press conference ahead of Thursday’s EU summit in Brussels.
So the PM wants information on how M expresses SD.
When it comes to the relationship and the Swedish approach to the Kremlin, the moderates are usually a reliable party. Now is the time for Ulf Kristersson to clearly show that it still applies, says Anderson in Brussels.
