“There will be no fees for posting or sharing digital collectibles on Instagram. In the future, we will also roll out digital collectibles on Facebook and allow people to view and share them as augmented reality stickers on Instagram Stories, bringing the benefits of this technology to more creators and collectors.” This test is not yet available in Latin America.
How digital collectibles will work:
Creators and aggregators in this test suite will be able to publish the NFTs they have created or own to Instagram by linking third-party digital wallets into the app.
The NFTs displayed in the app will receive a special visual processing “gloss” and the content will be attributed to both the creator and owner of the digital asset.
As of launch, the supported blockchains are Ethereum and Polygon, with Flow and Solana coming soon. Supported third-party wallets for use at launch will include Rainbow, MetaMask, and Trust Wallet, with Coinbase, Dapper and Phantom coming soon.
There will be no fees associated with posting or sharing digital collectibles on Instagram.
