Possible contamination: Natoura organic supermarket recalls corn flakes
Darmstadt. Organic supermarket chain Alnatura has recalled its corn flakes due to possible contamination. Alnatura Mais-Chips Natur and Alnatura Mais-Chips Paprika with best dates before August 9, 2022 to August 17, 2022 have been affected, a Darmstadt-based company spokeswoman said Thursday. The goods have already been withdrawn from sale.

So-called tropane alkaloids were detected in a sample of corn and pepper flakes. Tropane alkaloids are natural compounds found in some plants such as henbane, prickly apple and killer shade. It can lead to temporary health problems such as nausea, drowsiness, and headaches.
As a precaution, buyers of chips should not eat them anymore and can return products with the exact dates best before that to the respective markets, where they will receive a replacement. Other product return dates and other Natura products are not affected.
