England legend Alan Shearer (50) on the BBC: “I can’t even laugh about it, it’s pathetic!” Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet also ridiculed the campaign, writing: “Football couldn’t be more pathetic that it could be.” Not completely unjustified!

But in the quarter-finals, the movement did not bring much for Immobile: the striker remained goalless and was substituted with a 2:1 score in the 74th minute and so far he has two goals for the “Azzurre”.
Maybe Immobile should focus more on goals than on the pathetic contributions in Tuesday’s semi-final against Spain (9:00pm)…
