Krzysztof Similevsky finished eighth in the 200-meter butterfly style at the Olympic finals in Tokyo.

Krzysztof Similevsky finished eighth in the 200-meter butterfly style at the Olympic finals in Tokyo. The 17-year-old swimmer’s result was 1.55.88. Hungary’s Christoph Milak won, while Japanese Domoro Honda and Italian Federico Burdisso won.

Similevsky traveled slightly weaker than Tuesday’s semifinal, setting his career record at 1.55.29.

The world record holder in this competition (1.50.73) is Milak, the most favorite. However, at half time in Hungary, he was in third place. In the end, he clearly won, setting an Olympic record of 1.51.25.

The previous (2008) in Beijing was the work of the famous American Michael Phelps and it is 1.52.03. Honda was up 1.53.73 and Purdiso was up 1.54.45.
