A warning has been issued – an expected weather phenomenon will hit the Canary Islands

The weather phenomenon “Dana” is expected to reach the archipelago on Friday and continue for three days. The storm is expected to reach its peak and be at its worst on Saturday, according to the Spanish Meteorological Institute Emmett.

All the islands of the archipelago were affected by the storm, but the most affected were Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria – where an orange warning was issued on Saturday.

According to the weather forecast, up to 50 mm of rain is expected in some parts of the island group, including Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria, and wind speeds in some areas could reach 70 km/h.
