During the spring, several major Swedish companies were summoned to the Foreign Ministry after warnings from the European Commission about suspicious dealings with Russian actors, DN revealed last week. Among the companies that appear in the records of Russian customs authorities are: Atlas Copco, Ericsson, Volvo, SKF and Sandvik.

KU is now reporting the Social Democrats to the government and Foreign Aid and Trade Minister Johan Forssell (M) for not reporting the information to the Business Committee and Riksdag parties.

The government's entire response to sanctions violations is characterized by a great deal of negativity. Things are moving slowly and there is a complete lack of commitment to a very important issue, says party economic policy spokesman Fredrik Olofsson, who says he will report during the day.

– Obviously you must provide information to the Riksdag about important issues. Therefore, we want Kuwait University to review whether there is an official error here.

Already last year, DN was able to reveal how a number of major Swedish companies were doing business in Russia despite promises of sanctions. The companies denied intentionally circumventing Russian sanctions.

DN contacted Johan Forssell, who declined to comment because he had not yet seen the report.
