Trent Alexander-Arnold has signed a new contract with Liverpool, the club’s official website has announced.
“Trent Alexander-Arnold has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool Football Club,” the official press release said. Although the Reds have not announced the duration of the new contract, journalists say it will be valid for the next four years.
The 22-year-old recently signed an extension in 2019, but a recent deal has significantly boosted his earnings as he joins Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk as one of the club’s highest paid players.
This is definitely a worthy hike for the right-back, who has established himself as one of the best players in world football since his debut for The Reds in 2016.
Lifelong Liverpool supporter Alexander-Arnold has set a goal of capturing the club in the future, already wearing the shield against FC Midtjylland in December 2020.
Speaking on the club’s official website about the announcement of his new contract, the Liverpool Academy graduate described the event as “transparent”.
“I am proud to have been offered this opportunity and to be confident in extending the contract,” he said. “It was definitely a thing for me, the status of the club and where I am in my life I think will always be a good choice for me,” he added.
“Extending it and making sure I’ve been here a long time is always a good thing.” So do not hesitate for a moment.
Van Dijk, Salah, Allison, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane are also lined up for new contract negotiations this summer.
Meanwhile, the board has not yet made a firm decision on the future of Roberto Firmino, Nabi Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
