Moody: Covidstormen shakes us up
The lockdown of the Indian capital has been extended to beat the dismal new records in terms of the number of people infected with the COVID-19 virus. The pandemic situation is really tense in India.
The virus situation in India means restrictions have been extended.
In the past 24 hours, 349,691 people in India have been confirmed infected with the COVID-19 virus. This is a new world record for the number of injuries per day.
We had good courage after successfully treating the first wave. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a radio statement that this storm shook the nation.
Last winter, the daily number of new cases reached around 10,000 and India decided to open up the community to a large extent. It had disastrous consequences. An acute shortage of oxygen and overcrowded hospitals have led to temporary open-air cremations.
The tense situation means that the closure of the capital, Delhi, will be extended for a week until May 3.
“Our hearts go out to the Indian people on this horrific outbreak of COVID-19. We are working closely with our partners in the Indian government and will quickly provide additional support to the Indian people and the medical heroes of India.”
In total, nearly 17 million people have been confirmed infected with the COVID-19 virus and more than 192,000 have died in the $ 1 billion country. However, the dark figure is assumed to be much higher than in many other countries.
