Novak Djokovic hasn’t played since September 12, when he lost to Danilo Medvedev in the US Open final and lost his chance to win the classic Grand Slam. This week, he is back in competition and will participate in the ATP Masters 1000 in Paris, where he has won five times in the past (2009, 2013-15 and 2018 seasons).
“I’m excited to be back in the tournament,” he admitted at a press conference. – Happy to be back. I’ve trained really well the past few weeks. I’ve had a lot of success in Paris in recent years, and that gives me reasons to believe I can go far in the championship.
“Over the years I’ve learned to deal with failures, and treat them as an element of development,” he recalled losing in the New York Final. I feel like losing the US Open final came at the worst or the best moment. Sure, I was disappointed with the loss, but I had never before had the support and love of fans like I did at the time in New York. The kind of energy she got from the masses at that time was a lifelong victory.

To date, he has finished the year six times as the “number one” in the world and is the joint record holder with Pete Sampras in this regard. To do this, he must receive a nickname. In the event that there is a different result, then much will depend on the result achieved by Medvedev.
He assessed that “this rivalry will be decided between me and Medvedev, and I am in a very good position.” Obviously, that’s the goal at the end of the season. I would like to finish the year well and take first place.
Djokovic was also asked about his performance at the Australian Open. According to local authorities’ announcements, only tennis players who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 will be able to play in the tournament in Melbourne. In a recent interview, the Serb did not want to reveal whether he had received the vaccine. Now he didn’t give a definitive answer either.
– I will decide when I see the Tennis Australia statement. There are no official announcements at the moment so I won’t talk about it until then, because I don’t want to be part of the speculation – it’s booked.
Djokovic will start competing in Paris on Tuesday. in a. At 19:30 he will face Marton Vosovich. Going out of bounds can be dangerous for me. So, I have to make sure that I start the first match with a good strength and build my character. Hope to win. He said I feel comfortable on this court, so I will start playing.
