Intel’s next generation of indoor mini PCs are scheduled to launch this year. This indicates one on reddit Manufacturer’s product roadmap leaked by user /u/Lukedriftwood. It appears that the release of “Raptor Canyon” is scheduled for the last quarter of 2022.

Intel Canyon is used to describe the products of the NUC Extreme, that is, particularly powerful mini computers of their own production. And Raptor Lake is the name of a new CPU generation expected in the coming months. If you put two and two together, you’ll see: “Raptor Canyon” will be a small computer with the next 13th generation of processors at its core.

Regardless, the roadmap section presents some additional specifications that Intel wants to include in Raptor Lake. Computers use containers with a capacity of 13.9 liters. This is an obvious increase compared to current 8-liter Dragon Canyon models and is probably due to the Raptor’s short-term power increase of up to 180W.

Additionally, customers will likely have a choice between the top-of-the-line Core i9-13900K CPU, the Core i7-13700K underneath, and at least one overclockable model from the i5 lineup.

Finally, there is a mention of the PCIe x16 slot. NUC Extreme will also have a connection option for discrete graphics cards. And these are likely models from Nvidia, as the first NUCs with their Arc graphics card debuted just a few months ago with “Serpent Canyon”.

The roadmap is no more accurate yet than “Q4 2022” when it comes to a release date. Unfortunately, we don’t have any information on pricing for the various Raptor Canyons at the moment. We can expect more here in the coming months when Intel officially introduces the Raptor Lake.
