OnePlus 10R leaks: Everything we know so far

With the OnePlus 9RT launched just a couple of months ago, it looks like OnePlus is updating the R series for value flagships with the rumored OnePlus 10R. Although there is no confirmation from the brand, leaks about the phone have surfaced on Twitter quite often.

The OnePlus 10R will be the second in the series after the OnePlus 10 Pro at its launch. Let’s take a look at everything we know about the 10R so far.

OnePlus 10R: What we know so far

According to a report from 91 mobilesOnePlus India CEO Navnit Nakra has confirmed to the publication that the new OnePlus 10R will be launched with a MediaTek Dimensity 8000 chip at its core. Although it has not been confirmed, speculations about this chip being the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 are circulating at the moment.

This would make the OnePlus 10R the first phone in the brand’s number series to feature a MediaTek chip. All phones in the previous number series, from the first OnePlus One to the OnePlus 9R and 9RT, have Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets. The 10R will join the Nord series of phones that have been using MediaTek chips since the OnePlus Nord 2 5G.

Expected specifications

The leaks indicated that the OnePlus 10R could have a 6.7-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a hole punch in the middle for the front camera. This may be the first time the camera cutout has reached the center of the phone, as previous OnePlus devices always had a punch-hole cutout to the left. The monitor can also have a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

It will likely come with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, although this would be the better alternative. For cameras, expect a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. This may be accompanied by a 16MP front camera.

We can also expect the phone to pack a 4,500mAh battery with 150W fast charging, which is also expected in the rumored OnePlus Nord 3.

Note that all this information is not yet officially confirmed and we will have to wait and see if the OnePlus 10R actually makes its way to India. Perhaps, OnePlus’ “More Power to You” launch event on April 28th will give us some more clues about it.
