Areva is likely to withdraw from Kojawi and Pomerania in 2022. At the session of the Regional Parliament session (29/11), Marshal Piotr Kaipeki informed that talks on the assignment of transporting this carrier until December 2022 will not bring positive results, so it is scheduled that Polregio lines diesel.
Piotr Całbecki: – The winning bid is actually the only one we can think of in a positive light. This is Przewozy Regionalne (Polegio). As of December 12, all lines will be operated by Przewozy Regionalne. We have reached an agreement to conclude negotiations in this regard. Unfortunately, the previous Arriva offering was much more expensive and did not meet our expectations, as well as in terms of quality. That’s why we made such a decision, we can’t have a different one.
The tender is at the stage of a complaint submitted by one of the carriers, and on December 6, another meeting will be held.
What will the result be? It’s hard to guess at the moment. Even if we had to, by decision of the National Appeals Chamber, cancel the whole procedure, it wouldn’t affect what would happen on the tracks from December 12th. We will have plenty of time to implement the new procedure, and learn from some of the mistakes or shortcomings we made during the preparation phase. This procedure is getting more and more difficult because we paved the way in Poland – there weren’t many such tenders. So we may not see certain things. But today we will see more. So, if we announce the measure again, he will be well prepared – said the marshal.
