Roger Federer is preparing to end his career. “I don’t think I need tennis” – message

Due to a long layoff, Federer was not included in the final rankings ATPHe was president for 237 consecutive weeks (310 weeks in total). The Swiss realized that his successful career was nearing its end.

– I want to win, but if you don’t compete, it’s better to stop. Tennis is part of my identity, but not the whole of it. “I know that a career can’t last forever and that success can be achieved outside the game as well,” Federer told Dutch daily Algemeen Dagblad.

However, the Swiss tennis player sees the benefits of the current situation. One of them is the time Federer can devote to his family. – I don’t think I need tennis. Now I am happy with little things, like when my son does something right, or when my daughter gets me good grades from school, he agreed.

It is not known when Federer will retire from the game. The 20-time Grand Slam winner, however, announced that he would give himself another chance and return to the court after recovering from injury.
