With the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the popularity of remote work has increased significantly, which, of course, uses not only appropriate equipment, but also a variety of online communication platforms. There is a fierce battle in this area, and as one side claims – not necessarily fair.
The European Commission has received a complaint from the manufacturer of the communication device slack Against Microsoft – the platform, of course, is the core of the dispute differencewho should be Prefer unfavorable, causing the phenomenon of unhealthy competition.
In a statement sent last year, launcher Slack notes that Microsoft Teams is gaining a significant advantage over its competition due to the integration of this messenger with the Office suite. In addition, the Redmond giant is expected to make it difficult to uninstall the software and replace it with competing solutions.
It will likely take at least several months to consider the complaint – it should be noted that Microsoft already had experience in legal battles with the European Commission, which resulted in a fine of 2.2 billion euros, among other things, for bundling their products.
