As reported a few days ago, the day before yesterday, The Pokémon Company ran Pokémon Presents, a short broadcast providing updated information on what awaits the Pocket Monsters brand. The biggest news of the show was the reveal of a new generation of Pokémon, with two new major games to be announced later this year.
Both of these games, known as Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, are coming to the Nintendo Switch and will have an open world as we saw recently in Pokémon Legends Arceus.
While we haven’t seen many official games yet, the video shows which region the game will be inspired by, and this year’s game is expected to be based on Spain in appearance.
Other than that, the only other important information we need to share, aside from the release window (“late 2022”), is about new starter Pokemon. The starter of the new grass will be known as the Sprigatito, the starter is a Fuecoco Fire Crocodile Pokémon, and finally, the water starter is Quaxly which is a Duckling Pokémon.
You can see all three in the new companion ArticlesPlus, some world images that we’ll be able to discover with our own eyes when Pokémon Scarlet/Violet is released later this year.
