While many around the world have already fallen in love with the 2.9-meter-tall vampire known as Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil Village, we might all be mispronouncing her name.
During the latest Resident Evil Village show, Britney Brumbacher from What Good Games was talking about a Resident Evil Village demo when she said, “Something is telling me it won’t include an informal tea time with Lady Demetrisko.”
Brombacher’s pronunciation of Mrs. Dimitreesku as “Lady Dimitreesk” was a little shocking to some, including _ Reecieboy on Twitter, who did not realize that the “u” was silent in her name.

While he received many questions about how to pronounce Lady Dimitrisco, Brumbacher assured that “Capcom showed me how to say it correctly (believe me, I asked) and they agreed on the shot.”
According to DdB.com, last name Dimitrescu has origins from Eastern Europe and Russia and several pronunciation videos on YouTube, including a video on First Name pronouncing six years ago, includes a “u” at the end.
However, it is also important to remember that Resident Evil Village is not based on the real world and creates its own story, so who could say Mrs. Dimitrisko couldn’t choose the way this spooky scientist says his name?
Resident Evil Village will launch on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia on May 7, 2021.
