The e-TOLL system is being installed. The new fees are effective December 1, 2021.

e-TOLL on the A2

The new fee collection method will apply not only to drivers of trucks, buses and groups of trailers, but also to drivers of light vehicles, ie. Passenger cars. We will pay for the trip on the motorways A2 (Konin – Stryków) and A4 (Wrocław – Sośnica) with a few clicks in the e-TOLL PL mobile application or by purchasing an electronic motorway ticket.

While smartphone users should have no problem switching to the new system, people who struggle with digital exclusion (or simply don’t have the right device at the time of travel) may have trouble paying for the trip.

This is because although we are less than two weeks away from the introduction of the new rules, the list of fixed points has not yet been published. By default, these should be gas stations. but who? The Ministry of Finance is still keeping us on the lookout.

e-TOLL a mandaty

The gates on the A2 and A4 motorways disappear, but the tolls remain fixed. It is better not to blame them, because the fine for not having an electronic ticket is PLN 500. But you can also pay more – up to twice as much if the driver covers the number plates or puts them in the wrong place. Inspections are unlikely to be uncommon, since the tax office has purchased up to 102 police cars specially prepared for this task.

ITD officers will sit behind the wheel of Ford vehicles with cameras on the roof to identify license plates. Two service models entered: Focus and Transit. The system is able to verify in real time that the driver has paid the appropriate fee, and checks can be made even while driving.
