Bielefeld That’s really true: D. Oetker offers spinach pizza with fish fingers and wants to launch it in early April. Online reactions have been mixed.
What at first seems like a joke is actually more downright :D. Oetker launches spinach pizza with fish fingers. The new design is called “Ristorante Pizza Bastoncini di Pesce” and will only be available as a limited edition for a short time.

The popular snack topped with six fish fingers from the company Iglo. The Doctor, however, did not come up with the idea himself. Three and a half years ago, user “Stullen-Andreas” asked on Twitter: “It’s 2018 and there are no fish pizza sticks yet.” According to the company, other users should have liked this innovation. In 2020, there was already an April Fool’s joke that fish finger pizza would be released. But now it’s serious. “The community commitment has paid off and we give them what they want. Fish finger pizza is the first community product in our pizza range,” says Max Stoernagel, Responsible Brand Manager. “What sounds funny at first turns out really tasty. Spinach pizza pairs well with fish fingers. It surprised and convinced everyone who tried it.”
In retail, the new pizza creation will cost €3.29 (RRP). On Twitter, Dr. Oetker with “No kidding, I promise. Spread the good news” pizza. But some users don’t think the company, after all, fish finger pizza will also be available on April 1. The post received more than 2,500 responses. One user jokes: “Buy ten, keep them in a dry place in the basement for five years and then sell them on eBay.” This will be my retirement pension plan. Thank me later. Someone asks: ‘Is it called ‘oven fish’ then? “
Another user no longer understood the world: “What did Italy actually do to you that you wouldn’t do something terrible?” Another question for Dr. Oetker: “Did you drink?” The company’s response: “Only later.”
Igloo himself also comments on the feedback: “This is the collector’s version! The front of the packaging would look great with a frame!” But other requests for new pizza creations were received as well: “How about Brussels sprouts pizza?” One user might want a pizza with Maultaschen , while another finds: “Without kebab and spare chocolate is not good, please bring it as a special edition.” Many would dare to doubt whether this suggestion was intended seriously.
