Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport has received approval from the Dutch government to raise airport fees – in this way, one of the most popular airports in Europe is to offset losses associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Ticket prices are expected to go up.

According to the daily “Het Parool”, in 2020 Amsterdam Airport earned 314 million euros from it, less than half of the previous year. Now he wants to improve his financial situation by increasing the amount of fees. The government agreed to this, which means that airlines will have to raise ticket prices.
Schiphol is among the most expensive airports in Europe
“We are talking with the carriers about our plans for the coming years and related prices,” an airport spokesperson told the newspaper.
Research by SEO Economic Research showed that Schiphol ranked 10th in the list of the most expensive airports in Europe, linked to Frankfurt am Main Airport.
According to SEO, Amsterdam Airport is among the most expensive in terms of security costs. Schiphol ranks fourth in Europe in terms of the number of passengers and the number of air operations, and third in terms of the amount of cargo handled.
