Local authorities in the Ryazan region in southeastern Russia said that an oil refinery was attacked during the morning hours by a drone.
A number of people were injured and the facility caught fire, according to the district governor.
From Belgorod, near the border with Ukraine, reports come in Russian state-run media of a drone attack on the headquarters of the Russian intelligence service. No one should get hurt.
During the night and morning, the Russian army shot down drones in the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Ryazan and Leningrad, according to the Ministry of Defense in Moscow. In total, about 60 drones were shot down. One of the drones in Leningrad was reportedly shot down near an oil refinery.
This is the second day in a row that Russian energy facilities have been attacked. On Tuesday, Russia accused the Ukrainian army of being behind attacks on a fuel depot in Oryol and an oil refinery in Kstovo.
