The new version of Android TV brings the long-awaited changes to the user interface – it was Adapts to the requirements of 4K TVs. It will also be possible to change the size of the fonts, and the visual effect of the revamped interface will be deepened by blurred backgrounds.
Android TV 12 will also introduce a completely new system for detecting image display modes and formats – thanks to this, the TV will be able to better handle content displayed in HDR or using surround sound. The new version of the system also introduces support for HDMI CEC 2.0.
Google has also presented a number of news related to user security and privacy. Among them we can find, for example, special tags for the microphone and the camera, which will indicate whether these accessories are currently turned on and whether they record image and sound. Another interesting feature is the Quick Connect function, which will allow you to quickly connect your mobile device to the TV via a QR code.
At the moment, the capabilities of Android TV 12 can only be used by people who have ADT-3 – a special TV adapter for developers. The first TV models are expected to receive the new Google system in the first half of 2022.
