Andy Murray has to say goodbye to the ATP 1000 at Paris-Bercy in the first round.
The 34-year-old Briton was defeated by lucky German loser Dominic Kupfer after an uphill battle in three sets with 4:6, 7:5, 6:7 (9). The former number one in the world rankings leaves seven unused balls, while Kupffer turns his first ball after more than three hours of play.
Also in the second round, Indian Wells winner Camaron Nouri (GBR/10), who conspicuously defeated Federico Del Pone (Argentina) 6:2, 6:1 had to knock out the 13th seed Russian Aslan Karatsev after 2:6, 7:6 (9), 6:7 (5) against American Sebastian Korda.
Hungary’s Marton Fukowicz defeated Italy’s Fabio Fognini on Monday 6:1, 6:7 (6), 7:6 (5). In the second round, Vosovic has to deal with world number one Novak Djokovic, who was bid farewell in the first round and is celebrating his comeback after losing in the US Open final.
