For something that captivated everyone who worked with him and for him ”- wrote Alfa Romeo in his farewell words.
“The team wishes Kimi all the best in this well-deserved retirement, knowing that he and his family will be very happy to come home after seeing the last checkered flag in Abu Dhabi. But before that, let’s finish this illustrious career at what it deserves”- the team added.
Swiss team boss Frederic Vasseur also decided on special words. – There is no other driver like Kimi. “His presence, charisma and exceptional demeanor, combined with the innate skills that gave him a chance in 2001, made him a legend in our sport in a way that numbers and stats do not reflect,” Vasseur said.
I have had the pleasure of working with him over the years and I think I speak for everyone who works at Alfa Romeo. From the production hall in Hinwil to the garage in Zandvoort, this is where we got this message. A driver like Kimi has written beautiful and indelible pages in the history of our team and our sport.
