Breath of the Wild 2: Nintendo postpones Zelda

There is no new “Mario Kart”, no new “Super Mario”, yet 2022 could have been the highlight for Nintendo fans. The successor to “Breath of the Wild” was supposed to be released for the Nintendo Switch this year. But nothing will come of it now. Eiji Aonuma, Nintendo’s lead developer for the “Zelda” series, spread the bad news via Twitter.

Zelda Not Until Spring 2023

Although Nintendo previously announced that it would release the game in 2022, it has now decided to change the date. Rather by year, the suffix to hit the key shouldn’t appear until spring 2023. So fans should wait another year. But the wait should be worth it: Nintendo wants to use it to “make the gaming experience something special,” says Aonuma. He apologizes to everyone who was already looking forward to this year’s release.

After the apology, Aonuma reiterated what we already know about Breath of the Wild 2 – just in case you’ve forgotten what she’s really looking forward to. In the new segment, Nintendo expands the game world. Players can now also explore the airspace above Hyrule and can look forward to new attacks and additional gameplay items.
