The railway manager said PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe had signed a contract with Budimex for a project and construction work on the stations in Ełk for a net of about PLN 587 million.

PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA has signed a contract worth approximately PLN 587 million for the reconstruction of Ełk Station, Ełk Szyba Wschód Station and Ełk Towarowy Station. The contractor for the design and construction work is Budimex SA Investments in Ełk, this is the first phase of works in the Biaystok – Ełk section, as part of the project ‘Works on the E 75 line, Biaystok – Suwałki – Trakiszki section (state border), Phase 1, Biaystok – Section Ełk ”- we read in the version.

Thanks to the investment, passengers will have a comfortable Ełk station. All three platforms will be raised and expanded, which will greatly facilitate access to the trains. In terms of investments in Ełk, among others, the replacement of about 45 km of tracks and the overhead line and 118 turnouts. Increased safety in rail and road traffic will be ensured by two new railway bridges over ul. Towarowa and ul. Railroad. Facilities will replace crossings.
