Celtic Glasgow withdrew from the Champions League qualifiers. The Scots defeated after extra time

Celtic Glasgow bid farewell to qualifying for the Champions League in the second round. Scotland’s runner-up withdrew from competition with Dane Midtjylland.

These are not successful months for Glasgow Celtic fans. First, the full-time Scottish champions lost control of the country to the Rangers led by Steven Gerrard. Now they are eliminated from the European Champions League in the second qualifying stage.

Celtic did not live up to the Danish Midtjylland. In the first match in Glasgow, the score was 1-1. The Bhoys started the match hoping for a positive result. And in fact – they started the match better, because McGregor hit the opponent’s net in the 48th minute.

But the hosts did not intend to surrender and in the 61st minute they tied. The goal after Sesto’s pass was scored by Mabel.

There were no more goals in regulation time, so extra time was necessary to determine the winner.

Turns out the Midtjylland players were better at it. In the 94th minute, Onyedika entered the list of shooters. Celtic were unable to respond – in extra time they were in fact just the background to better organized opponents.
