Microsoft didn’t introduce a new set of functionality with Edge 93 until the beginning of September 2021, such as tab groups, and closed a number of security holes in its browser. Now the company from Redmond (Washington State) is already presenting the next big update. COMPUTER BILD explains the changes to version 94 of the Microsoft browser.
Edge 94: New Release Cycle
So far, a new major version of the Edge browser has appeared in the so-called stable channel every six weeks. Now Microsoft – like Google with Chrome – is moving to a four-week release cycle to provide new functionality more quickly. Companies in particular will find a new offering with an “Extended Stability Option” to avoid frequent updates. There are also new jobs every eight weeks with only security updates in between. Edge 94: Innovations
- Microsoft summarized the accessibility settings in a separate section in Edge 94. To make the appropriate adjustments, go to the page Edge: // Settings / Accessibility employment. More options should be available at this point in future Edge releases.
- Another change related to the handling of MHTML files. Edge will continue to open in IE mode by default, unless you previously saved it with Edge (with options Save as or Save page as). Then the MHTML file opens in Edge.
- so called Mixed content downloads Your browser is now locked. This means: If an HTTPS page is associated with an insecure HTTP download, Edge will immediately block the download. This change comes from the Chromium project.

To update to version 94, tap the three dots in the upper right corner, in Help and feedback as About Microsoft Edge, wait for installation and then click the button start over. If the update is not available to you yet, use the download mentioned earlier in this article. All personal data and settings are preserved during installation.
