Jordi Alba Exchange Champion?! The Spaniard is not eager to leave

ESPN reports that Jordi Alba may go to Inter Milan as a replacement for Alessandro Bastoni.

The Barcelona left-back has one of the club’s biggest contracts, and given the Catalans’ apparent willingness to spend less money, they are interested in what needs to be done to get rid of his player card and the accompanying contract. He will replace Alba in place of Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan. The hardest part about this whole thing is that the Spaniard doesn’t want to leave and he recently said he wants to end his career at Camp Nou.

I have three years on the contract and I can see myself being able to fulfill it. The club’s decision has already been taken, and I intend to stay at Barcelona for the rest of my footballing life.

The biggest reason Barcelona are seeking to get rid of the Spain international is to help Lionel Messi seal the new contract. If veteran players with big contracts like Alba, Sergi Roberto and Sergio Busquets agree to cut their fees or leave the club, that could make things much easier. But at the moment, they all appear to be on Barcelona’s transfer list.

The 22-year-old Bastoni joined Milan in 2017 from Atalanta. The player who is mostly positioned as a centre-back has so far played 58 games for Inter, in which he scored two goals.
