LG introduces speakers with support for AirPlay 2 and Siri

As is well known, LG is out of the smartphone market It came out, but the Koreans remained on the ship in the entertainment business. The new 2021 speaker lineup has now been introduced which brings many innovations to Apple fans.

The range consists of five devices with easily confused names: SPD7Y, SPY7, SP8YA, SP9YA and SP11RA. We have sorted them according to their price in ascending order. All devices support Dolby Atmos and DTS: X surround sound.

The SP11RA, SP9YA, and SP8YA speaker models are compatible with Apple’s Siri, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa. LG announced that these devices also support Apple AirPlay 2, so music can be streamed directly from Apple devices.

They provide chamber calibration thus adapting operation to local conditions. They all offer eARC over HDMI, which should enable higher bit rate, HD content, and uncompressed Dolby Atmos audio with just one cable.

What are the differences between LG speakers?

The SP11RA features an impressive 770W, while the SP9YA 520W, SP8YA and SP7Y deliver an overall output of 440W. Even the cheapest SPD7Y still delivers 380W of music power. The SPD7Y and SP8YA are 3.1.2 speakers, and the SP7Y is a 5.1 surround speaker. SP9YA offers 5.1.2 playback, the most expensive SP11RA model has 7.1.4 audio built in.

The top model SP11RA is fitted with speakers at the rear, the other models can be modified, only LG’s SPK8 rear speakers can be used. What we also find good: the packaging should be more environmentally friendly and use less Styrofoam and plastic than before.
