Three-year-old Madeleine “Maddie” McCann was on vacation with her parents on the Algarve coast in Portugal when she disappeared on May 3, 2007. She was never found.

On the anniversary of the girl's disappearance, Maddie's parents shared their thoughts.

“It's been 17 years since Madeleine was taken from us. It's hard to even say that number without shaking your head in disbelief.”write Kate and Gerry McCann.

They say that “they can now live a relatively normal and good life.”

“But living in limbo is still painful. The pain of her absence never ends.”write Kate and Gerry McCann.

“The desire and hope to find it”

They are grateful for the support they receive.

“Even though so many years have passed, we know that the love for Madeleine, and the desire and hope to find her, is still there. And we are so grateful for that.”write Kate and Gerry McCann.

The parents ended the post by thanking everyone who “still remembers Madeleine and all the other missing children.”

Since 2020, German Christian Bruckner (47 years old) has been the main suspect in the case of missing girl Maddie McCann.

Police and prosecutors believe he kidnapped and killed the three-year-old. But Bruckner was never brought to justice for this.
