OFFICIAL: Troy Deeney has changed the club after 11 years at Watford

Already at the start of the season it was almost clear that when Watford returned to the Premier League, Troy Deeney would have a marginal role for the team. For this reason, he decided to look for new challenges.

First, the Hornets announced the termination of his contract, a moment later he confirmed the acquisition of the seasoned Birmingham City striker.

The 33-year-old is therefore moving to this team as part of a free transfer. He signed a contract with the new club, which will be valid until June 30, 2023.

I have said many times in the past that I grew up in this city and would like to join Birmingham City one day. I believe in the project here and after speaking to the coach, I can clearly imagine the role I am going to play here – he said.

Denny, although he came from Birmingham, had never played “blue” before. He made his first steps in football in Chelmsley, and since 2010 he has been wearing the Watford shirt.

In total, he played for this team 419 matches, and his achievements are 140 goals. In addition to this, he also managed to score 62 assists.

After five rounds of the championship season, Denny’s new employer is ranked eighth in the league table with eight points.
