PS5 Slim Officially Launched! Meaning it was created as a prototype by creator DIY Perks, who put several months of his life into creating this miracle. Everything is great – and you have to see it.
After releasing the first version of the next generation console, Sony is always trying to create a smaller and (usually) quieter version. We’ve had PS2, PS2 Slim, PS3, PS3 Slim, PS3 Super Slim in the past… Obviously, the same thing happened with PS4.
And in the near future, the “slimming treatment” should affect Sony’s new baby, the PS5. Internet developers have already bypassed the Japanese company. One of the most famous “technological DIY enthusiasts”, Or DIY Perks, you created a working PS5 console in a miniature version.
PS5 Slim, or ‘I have to get it’
YouTuber DIY Perks built his own PS5 Slim. But you definitely won’t be able to reproduce this crazy idea on your own. He stripped the standard PlayStation 5 and replaced anything that needed replacing to get rid of unnecessary console dimensions. He created his own mini-dwelling.
cooling? On the regular PS5, chip cooling was solved by using old air cooling. nah Water cooling has been used in the PS5 Slim.
As for the dimensions, the most surprising is the thickness. The “normal” console measures approximately 10cm. The “DIY” version is only 1.9 cm long. That’s a shocking difference. Who wouldn’t want a PS5 entering all the free space?
There is only one hook: the power supply and heat sink were moved to an additional board, Which we install on the wall for example. An elegant solution, because producers like to “take out” power supplies from the console and move them to another place.
No, the Sony PS5 Slim will never look like this
We have one thing to tell ourselves: no Sony console will look like this. Unfortunately, we have a few things to move on here. One of the biggest problems is the cooling itself.
Yes, water cooling is effective and allows you to save as much space as possible. However, there are enough problems with this that the console can sink into the worst situations.
Although there is certainly plenty of room for tweaks in the case of the PS5. The “skinny” model is definitely a matter of time. Maybe not this year, but next year we should at least hear more about the new year, Slimmer little brother (sister?) PS5.
