The Polish volleyball players started the European Championship with a victory over the Portuguese national team. The only unexpected thing about this win was that Piano-Cervoni dropped the second set team ranked 40th in the FIB rankings. However, this is the result of unforeseen events at this meeting. After the Portuguese surprised our representatives with a service in the second game, the Poles analyzed events on the pitch and came out with new ideas for the game as they fully focused on the next set.

Five games without defeat

The recent history of the Polish-Serbian wars is being structured. Biało-Czerwoni has won the last five matches (two at the League of Nations, two at the World Championships and one at the Hubert Wagner Memorial). Earlier, however, the Poles’ Saturday opponents had five wins in a row. The match against Serbia is actually a battle for first place in the group and avoids strong European teams in the first knockout stages of the tournament.
