On Wednesday, March 9th, the prestigious event will begin in Indian Wells. The group of participants will be joined by 12 tennis players who will pass qualification in two stages. They were joined by one pole on Monday. It was Magdalena Froche (WTA 88), who beat Alycia Parks 6:2, 6:3 (WTA 152).

In the first set, Fręch won by 1:2 five games in a row. In the second set, Pole again made two breakthroughs. At 5:3, I used the 4th match ball.

In the 83rd minute, Froch scored 28 out of 38 points with her first pass. Saved two points for a break and traded four out of 10 chances to break. The Polish woman had never met Parks before.

The 21-year-old American competed in the playoffs thanks to a wild card. She made her debut on the WTA Tour last season in Charleston. To qualify, she reached the second round, where she lost to top seed Tunisia Anas Jaber. Last year, she was eliminated from the Indian Wells Parks. In the main event, I lost 6:6, 1:6 with Arantxa Rus.

Last season, Fręch made her debut with Indian Wells and won three games. In the qualifiers, she tackled Australian Lizette Cabrera and Canadian Rebecca Marino. In the main event, she defeated Saisai Zheng Chinese. In the second round, the Polish team lost 5:7, 2:6 to Karolina Pliskova, the most seeded from the Czech Republic.

On Tuesday, Fręch will fight to find himself on the main ladder of the California event once again. A difficult task awaits Ludzian. He will face Daria Savile, who defeated Camila Rachimoa 7:5, 6:3.

The Australian is currently ranked 409th in the ranking, but this is the result of her long absence due to health issues. In the past, it was listed in the 20th position. At the end of February, she came to Guadalajara, where she qualified for the quarter-finals. In the first round, she knocked out US Open champion Emma Raducano. The match lasted three hours and 36 minutes (the longest of the season so far) and ended with retirement in the third set.

In 2020, the Indian Wells Championship was cancelled. In 2021, it was not held on the traditional March deadline, but was pushed back to October due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this year’s edition, Iga Świątek and Magda Linette will take a place on the main ladder.
