By ordinary decree, it is planned to create in Poland a giant database, which will collect information from almost all possible public records – “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna” wrote on Tuesday.
As explained by “DGP”, it is an integrated analytics platform through which information collected by the Central Statistical Office, the Social Insurance Institution or the National Health Fund is combined with data from the PESEL database or the national taxpayer registry.
The daily reports that the creation of a huge base is provided for in the Law on Computerizing the Activities of Entities Performing Public Tasks.
“However, the obligation to provide data by many offices and institutions is the result of a normal regulation. We are also talking about information protected with confidentiality – statistical or medical. So in one place you will find data on how much we earn, what we are sick with, what our debt is , What education do we have. This, in turn, leads to the possibility of a full classification of citizens “- warns” DGP “.
The magazine notes that the purposes for which the data can be used are so broadly defined that “you can subscribe to just about anything.” He also points out that regulations limiting privacy must have the rank of verb, and here they will result largely from the decree.
“DGP” reached the critical position of the Office of Personal Data Protection on the project. As mentioned, according to the Personal Data Protection Office, the draft regulation is not compatible with the basic principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). “All the experts whose opinion we asked have a similar opinion” – confirms “DGP”.
