The Ministry of National Defense has announced the supply of the first batch of “yak” equipment for the transport of tanks and heavy surveillance equipment. They are Abrams and Leopard tanks used for transportation among others.
For the first installment, four complete “yak” sets and three Jelcz tractor units were provided. They will play a key role in regulating heavy technology transport using the road network, and when moving military equipment out of the country. The Jelcz 882.62 tractors and ST775-20W multi-axle semi-trailers provide access to high-speed makeshift ramps and reloading yards, as well as loading / unloading loads in a semi-trailer using winches and tools in the kit.
Equipment for tractors (winches) and semi-trailers (curves) allows for loading and unloading of equipment carried under field conditions without the need to use prefabricated loading curves. The set is designed to accommodate rail, sea and air transport. It should be noted that the set has magnified dimensions, including width from the roadway view.
The aforementioned deliveries are the result of the implementation of the agreement concluded on May 29, 2019 between the Armed Forces Superintendent of the Ministry of National Defense and Jelcz Sp. z oo, Accordingly, under warranty order and option, the contractor will supply a total of 23 boxes for the transport of tanks and heavy surveillance equipment with a capacity of over 63 tons and 3 Jelcz tractors. Delivery of the remaining 19 boxes is also planned for 2022. The low loader is manufactured by Temarco.
